Barnsley Aphasia Cafe

Barnsley Aphasia Cafe

The Barnsley Aphasia Cafe opened on Friday September 3rd at the Metrodome in the town.

The group is a welcome opportunity for people with aphasia to meet up, make new friends, share interests, experiences and get to know each other over a cup of coffee or a pot of tea.

The group is run by Emilie our speech and language therapist and we are also privileged to have a strong group of volunteers who come along to offer support and a friendly approach. They allow everyone the opportunity to be heard and make sure that each individual is included and at ease.

The Barnsley Aphasia Café takes place every two weeks, the next one being on Friday 29th October at 10.30 – 12.00pm at the Barnsley Metrodome Leisure Complex.

Speak With IT also run Aphasia Cafes in Leeds and Wakefield.
