What is Aphasia Support?

Aphasia Support is a charity. We help and support people who have Aphasia. We provide one to one and group support, led by Speech and Language Therapists.

What is Aphasia?

Aphasia is a communication disability that is caused by stroke, head injury or other illness. It affects the ability to speak, read, write and understand language. Our support seeks to build confidence. We want to help people with Aphasia to communicate with confidence.

Who goes to Aphasia Support?

Over 200 people per year are supported by our volunteers and staff in the home and over video call. We also run Aphasia Cafe group settings in different venues across Yorkshire. We cater for adults of all ages. Most have become Aphasic after a stroke.

Can I join Aphasia Support?

Anyone can phone or email us for more information. If we think we can help you, we will arrange an appointment with one of our Speech and Language Therapists.
